Udayana is a (mostly) self-taught illustrator living in Richmond, BC, Canada. She was born in Russia, but grew up in Mexico, this shaped her tastes, her imagination and her colour palette.
Udayana did a bachelor in product design in Mexico, and then a masters degree in Italy. After many years she took a chance and switched gears to become a children’s books illustrator. She works both traditionally with watercolours, gouache and colour pencils, as well as digitally.
When she’s not working, you’ll find her walking her dog, baking, reading or chilling out with her family. Recent clients include Sleeping Bear Press, Orca Books, Simon & Schuster and Union Square & Co.
