Skila Brown is the author of the verse novels Caminar and To Stay Alive, as well as the picture books Slickety Quick and Clackety Track, all with Candlewick Press. She received an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She grew up in Kentucky and Tennessee and now lives in Indiana where she writes books for readers of all ages.
Skila is the mother of three amazing humans. She is a teacher, knitter, poet, and bossy big sister. She is terrible at small talk but loves public speaking. She is deathly afraid of frogs. Skila is never without chocolate or opinions. For example, she thinks tea trumps coffee, cake crushes ice cream, and silence surpasses song. She avidly admires alliteration.
Skila is proudly represented by Carter Hasegawa (carter@tugeau2.com).
