Shirley Waisman brings creativity to life in Israel, where she shares her home with her husband, three teenage sons, her 95-year-old father, and their spirited dog, Sofi. With a BA in Art and Design and an MA in Education of the Arts, her journey includes a two-year research scholarship at Kyushu University in Japan, where she delved into the enchanting world of Japanese children's book illustration.
Having illustrated over 80 picture books for publishers worldwide, including in the U.S., Shirley also serves as the Illustrator Coordinator for SCBWI Israel. Her debut as both author and illustrator, Good Old Days Grandpa, was recently released by Tal May Publishing. Now, she’s excitedly developing new stories and expanding her passion as both a writer and illustrator.
When she’s not illustrating, Shirley loves practicing Pilates, traveling to new places around the world, and trying new delicious food.
