A native New Yorker, Marie Letourneau grew up in Babylon Village on Long Island, where her love for picture books and art began. Captivated by storybook illustrations, she spent hours drawing and painting, fascinated by the magic on each page.
Marie’s art reflects her love for small, joyful details—a glimmer of light, a soft brush of color, a character’s expressive face—making her illustrations not just beautiful but engaging. Each page offers something new to discover, inviting readers of all ages back again and again.
After earning a Fine Arts degree with a minor in writing from Hofstra University, Marie published her debut book, The Mice of Bistrot des Sept Frères, which won a Bronze Medal in ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Awards. Since then, she has illustrated five picture books and eagerly looks forward to creating more.
When she's not illustrating, Marie enjoys the beach, cooking, caring for animals, and roller skating (she even played roller derby!). She still lives on Long Island with her family, where she continues to enchant young readers with her art and storytelling.
