Madelyn Rosenberg is the author of more than a dozen books for children and young adults, including the middle-grade novels One Small Hop (Scholastic, a Green Earth Book Award honor book) and This Is Just a Test (Scholastic, co-authored with Wendy Wan-Long Shang), the picture books Cyclops of Central Park (GP Putnam’s Sons, illustrated by Victoria Tentler Krylov) and The Schmutzy Family (Holiday House, illustrated by Paul Meisel, a National Jewish Book Awards Finalist), and the young-adult novel Dream Boy (Sourcebooks Fire, co-authored with Mary Crockett).
Her stories often include themes pertaining to siblings, friendships, families, Judaism, the climate, and the need to take care of the world. A former journalist, her stories are grounded in reality but sometimes include a side order of fantasy. She loves humor, both because we need laughter and because it can be an effective way to talk about complex realities.
A most-of-her-life Virginian, she lives with her family in Arlington and works for an affordable housing and community development nonprofit in Washington, D.C.
Madelyn is proudly represented by Carter Hasegawa (carter@tugeau2.com).
