Emily Thomas lives in the Southwest of England with her two rabbits, Rudyard and Oscar, where she works as a Children's Book Illustrator & Graphic Novelist. Emily is constantly inspired by the natural world, the soft warmth of home and the magical excitement of wandering. She loves the idea of creating artworks that emulate these feelings and strives to create an inclusive and safe environment with each piece she draws.
Emily graduated with a first in Children's Book Illustration & Graphic Novels from Middlesex University, London, in 2022, and a DBes(Hons) in Illustration from DJCAD, University of Dundee, in 2019.
Emily's' **debut** graphic novel, A Smile Like Yours, published by Kids Can Press, will release in June, 2026. It's a fresh take on falling in love and learning how to truly see another person. It's both a compelling queer romance and a pitch-perfect coming-of-age story that keenly captures the ups and downs of university life.
Outside of illustrating, Emily loves listening to indie fold, Walking in the woods and watching her rabbit's binky in the sunshine.
Recent clients include Kids Can Press, Rebel Girls and Harper Collins.
