Natalie Lundeen is an illustrator and writer living in Clearwater, Florida. She loves combining the textures of traditional media with digital techniques to create illustrations inspired by her love of color, nature, humor, and fun characters.
Natalie taught herself to paint from library books as a homeschooling teenager. Instead of heading off to college, Natalie moved to Los Angeles to be an actress (plot twist!). After realizing it wasn’t the life for her, she returned to her love of painting and spent ten years as a fine artist, showing oil portraits and landscapes in galleries. After having a baby, Natalie decided to take a break from oil painting (poisonous fumes and all that), and dove into a longtime dream of children’s illustration and writing. As someone who still refers to herself as a “grown up," the change felt like finally coming home.
She has since illustrated several books, as well as licensed her illustrations to clients such as Design House Greetings, the Boston Children’s Hospital, Trader Joe’s, and Urban Play Interiors. Her work has been featured in national magazines such as HGTV Magazine, Southwest Art, and Entertain & Celebrate.
When she isn’t working, Natalie can be found visiting the alligators at her local parks, working on home DIY projects, and seashell hunting at the beach with her daughter.
Natalie is represented by Ethan Long & Heather Long (ethan@tugeau2.com, heather@tugeau2.com).
